Watch By Robert J. Sawyer

I just finished reading the novel Watch, and I thought it started off really well from where the other book left off. I was saddened to see it run out of pages, and I am very eagerly awaiting the release in April 2011 of the next and final book in the trilogy. One aspect of these novels I find very enjoyable is the integration of other books and articles, as well as real scientific theories and facts. What an enjoyable read! Check it out!

Rubicon

I've been watching the new TV series Rubicon. It focuses on an analyst at a think tank who comes across some information that perhaps he shouldn't have. Some people might find it a little slow for their tastes, but I think I'm rather enjoying it. I've sometimes wondered about government think tanks, and while this probably doesn't provide an accurate depiction of one, it's still interesting. It might also give conspiracy theorists more ammo for their stories.

Anyways, not many other interesting seasons have started up yet, so it's nice to know there's a series on that can help me procrastinate until the fall.

Heavier Than Heaven: A biography of Kurt Cobain

I just finished reading 'Heavier Than Heaven: A biography of Kurt Cobain' by Charles R. Cross. It was an enjoyable read, with many pieces of information I never knew throughout it.

In comparison to 'No One Here Gets Out Alive' though, in my opinion, I think it lacked some depth. While it is a huge source of information, covering Kurt Cobain's life from birth until death, I felt that I finished it still not really knowing who Kurt Cobain was. Unlike in 'No One Here Gets Out Alive', it really didn't go over what made Cobain who he was (although it seems like no one quite knew). For example, in 'No One Here Gets Out Alive', you get this feeling that Jim Morrison was a voracious reader, while in Heavier Than Heaven, while it does reference his reading, you don't really understand the depth to which he may or may not have read. Other than that, it was a very good book, and an inquisitive look into the life of Kurt Cobain.

Just read 'No One Here Gets Out Alive'

I just finished reading 'No One Here Gets Out Alive' by Jerry Hopkins and Danny Sugerman. It was a pleasant and very interesting look into the man who was Jim Morrison. It had a very detailed look at how he became who he was, and presented an unexpected side of him that you may not have picked up on otherwise.
